#1 Rich Bitch

Nicole Lapin

This is my most recent book, in fact I’m not quite done – just 2 more chapters to go – and I love it! This is a must read for every girl in her 20’s, early in her career, that wants to take control of their finances. Nicole Lapin does a great job of explaining everything from savings, to buying a house, to investments, to career advice, and all in a way that is interesting and relatable. As Nicole Lapin put it, “So you picked up a book about money. You? Yes, you! Well, you didn’t pick up just any book. You picked up the first finance book that…swears! And is written in plain English! Yes, it’s true. This. Is. Happening.”

#2 Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story

Arnold Schwarzenegger

It may seem a little odd, an Arnold Schwarzenegger book? But this was quite possibly my favourite book from the whole year. I first heard about it from my Style Collective sister, who is also the founder of the collective, Annie Spano. As I started reading it I was hooked. It’s so inspiring to read about his hard working, dedicated, positive attitude and how he navigated through his crazy, ever changing life.

#3 You are a Bad Ass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living

Jen Sincero

This book is a great way to start the year. I know many of you have heard of it and have probably read it already, but it’s worth mentioning for those who still haven’t checked it out. It was one of my first reads of 2016 and was so motivating and inspiring for getting your life into gear. Narrated by herself, Jen Sincero has a way of putting things into terms in a way that wakes you up and gives you that kick in the butt. A great read for anyone who needs that nudge and could use something to help break through those barriers.

#4 Leave Your Mark: Land Your Dream Job

Eliza Licht

A great book for anyone in the earlier years of their career looking for some advice for navigating their career. Eliza Licht has climbed the ranks and is a global communications #GirlBoss and former Twitter icon, “PR girl”, for DKNY. She dishes about all of the ins and outs of working to success from landing that interview and scoring the job, to work life balance, and taking risks. A great read for all those #BossBabes.

#5 Let it Out: A Journey Through Journalling

Katie Dalebout

Sort it out! Work through your blocks in life by applying the journaling techniques from this book. I used to be really into journalling when I was a teenager, but hadn’t picked up a journal in years. I had started this book at the beginning of last year and really liked it, but got busy on my new business and haven’t picked it up in months. I’m going to give it another go, and if you’re like me and find journalling helpful, or if you want to try something new, I recommend trying out journalling with this book.

#6 My Journey

Donna Karan

This book is for all the #FashionBabes. Read through Danna Karan’s eventful life as she grew up through a turbulent childhood and became a huge fashion success with a self awakening at the top of her career.

#7 Work Smarter: Live Better

Cyril Peupion

Full of tips to work effectively and be able to spend more time doing things you love. I haven’t read this book yet, but it’s on the list for this  year!

If you’re like me and making mindfulness more of a priority in your life then try out this book to gain a new perspective in applying it to your every day.

#9 Miracles Now: 108 Life-Changing Tools for Less Stress, More Flow, and Finding Your True Purpose

Gabrielle Bernstein

Yes, another mindfulness book, but this one is packed with tips that are meant for your average person that doesn’t have an hour a day to practice yoga, or a half hour a day for meditation. If you want to dip your toes in the water of mindfulness then this book is for you and will share practical tips for your everyday obstacles.

#10 Better Than Before: Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives

Gretchen Rubin

Explore what it takes to establish new habits and keep those goals. Whether you want to stop hitting that snooze button – top of my list! – establish a new workout routine, or limit screen time, this book will help you get there.
