We are a big smoothie family and this strawberry banana smoothie has been a family favourite. It’s reminiscent of my teenage favourite mall smoothies without all of the extra who knows what in it. Four simple ingredients is all you need, no added sugars or flavours.

The key to making this strawberry banana smoothie really tasty is to use super ripe bananas. If you’re worried about a bunch of your bananas going bad you can always cut them up and freeze them as soon as they’ve reached ideal ripeness. I always buy 2 bunches of bananas at a time and freeze whatever we haven’t eaten once they get super ripe. Although in all honesty I totally forgot last time and had to toss 4 out 🙁

If you’re using frozen bananas you’ll likely have to add some more almond milk. In this recipe I use coconut almond milk (my new fave!) because I really like the flavour, but you can use any milk substitute and adjust the amount depending on how thick/thin you prefer your smoothie.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

This strawberry banana smoothie is basic and super tasty. For the sweetest results use very ripe bananas. You can also use frozen ripe bananas but you will likely need to add some more almond milk. 

Servings 2 servings


  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1 1/2 cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 2 Bananas
  • 2 cups Coconut Almond Milk


  1. Add all ingredients into a high powered blender. Pulse for a few seconds and blend until smooth.
