So I’m using this Trendy Tuesday to share a life update for you. There’s been lots of exciting things going on in my world and I can’t wait to see where life takes me in the next year.
Many of you probably don’t know that much about my personal life. I’ve been working as a manager for a bingo hall for the last 5.5 years while I’ve been going through school for marketing and management, specifically digital marketing. My long term goal has always been to start my own business and I’m finally ready to make the switch!!!! As of December 23rd I will be self employed!!!
I’ve been pursuing these goals for such a long time, it almost hasn’t really hit me yet that I’ll be making the switch. It’s funny to think that just 4 years ago when I started my upgrading I was working 3 jobs and it seemed like the end of school was so far away. Classes could seem so daunting when I still had years left before finishing, but before I knew it classes finally finished in June, and 6 months later I’m ready to make my dreams a reality.
As excited as I am about all of this it means I am CRAZY busy over this next month. I’ve been juggling full time work, starting up my business, and blogging – it’s been alot to try and keep up with, not to mention I barely spend any time with Matt, let alone friends. Over December I will be scaling down my blog commitments so that I can fulfill my digital marketing client commitments, leave the bingo hall in a good place, and really focus on how I will grow and monetize Happy Stylish Fit. Now that I’ve achieved the goal of self employment, my next goal is to be a full time blogger by this time next year. I love helping all of you by sharing different tips and tricks and happy thoughts, and I can’t wait to be able to build on my vision of this blog being a hub for inspiration and happiness through fashion, beauty, and a healthy lifestyle. I’ve always envisioned this blog to be bigger than myself, and I’d love to see it grow into something like LaurenConrad.com and Fab Fit Fun.
So I’ll post to the blog once every week or two, and won’t focus on social. I’ll continue to use Instagram, but in a less structured, more fun way. If you want to see what’s going on and different things I’m loving ATM check out my stories. I have a love for Instagram so I’ll continue to keep that up on a smaller scale so that I can stay connected with you.
I want to use this story as an example to show you that you really can do what you set your mind too. Your goal may seem so far away and daunting, but just start. Concentrate on different chunks of your goal like looking into school, registering for classes, writing your goals and business ideas down, etc. If you focus on smaller chunks it makes it a little easier to deal with, but when you get down and feel discouraged remind yourself of the end goal. Think about why you are putting in the hard work now and it’ll help push you through those discouraging times, but please just start! Use some holiday vacation time to focus on what your long term goals are and think about how you want to make that happen, and start!
